Print on top of 1040
How do you get the program to print hurricane Ike on the front of 1040 ? I did it during tax season now I can't remember.

I do not know if this is the only way to print something on the top of the 1040 but it does work - Open the 1040 form. Below the box at the top that has the dates covered by the return is a blank box. Click on this box and use the override function to enter text.
You may not be able to e-file if you do this.
On the Federal Information Worksheet , in Part IX under IRS Disaster Tax Relief , enter the required literal for the disaster impacting the return.

There is a hidden text box just above the taxpayer's name line. Type it there. Although, on the disaster-related returns that I file (on paper) I hand-write it with a broad red marker. I don't want it to be overlooked.

Wow - I didn't know that was there! I'm learning something everyday.

TAXOH,
In addition to its intended use, I use that space for "AS ORIGINALLY FILED" and "AS AMENDED" on 1040's that are attached to a 1040X.

Thanks for another tip of the day.

Definitely Thanks ,Archie I just tested it and what you said works Great!!!,

Manuel_ProSeries Employee is correct. You identify the disaster relief provision in part IX of the federal information worksheet and it prints that information on the top of the form 1040. I gave him a point as his method did not require an override and therefore the return can be efiled.
