Preference to invoice from a list of time and expenses

I have QuickBooks Pro 2008 with Time Tracker installed. I am logged in as admin (auto-login.) According to the documentation, there should be a "Time & Expenses" Company Preference checkbox named "Create invoices from a list of time and expenses". My program has no such checkbox. Can anyone tell me why?

I have QuickBooks Pro 2008, and according to help topic invoice_for_time_and_expenses.html on the website (which applies to the exact product I am using), I should find the following menu item: Customers>Invoice for Time & Expenses. It does not exist in my version and Auto Updates is on. According to the help topic mentioned above this particular menu item should do exactly what I am looking for, but again, it does not exist. I would also greatly appreciate an answer. Sounds like a very similar problem.

I am having the identicl problem. According to the documentation, in Edit> Prefereces> Time & Expenses> Company Preferences there should be a checkbox option to "Create invoices from a list of time and expenses". It's not there. I'm running QB2008 Pro on a VISTA 64 bit PC.

After speaking with Intuit Technical Support I was informed that even though all their documentation, including that on the Intuit website, https://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/pages/inproducthelp/Core/QB2K8/ContentPackage/Core/Sales_Time/salespref_inv_from_time_exp_list_turn_... , is incorrect and that this functionality is only available in QB Premier !?!!

I eventually spoke with a Tech support Manager who confirmed this is the case and gee we're sorry but you'll just have to cough up an extra $200 to get QB Premier 2008. That is Intuit's only solution for there error.

I find this unacceptable but probamatically I have to accept it as I need the SW to do business.

Many thanks to herbtea for a definitive answer to this frustrating situation. Of course, Intuit's response sux but apparently we are stuck with it. My reason for needing this feature is that it is all too easy to overlook unbilled time and not get it invoiced. I have found a manual workaround that solved the problem for me. From the menu bar under Reports > Jobs, Time & Mileage, there is a report titled "Time by Job Detail". On this report I set a filter for Billing Status = Not Billed. I print this out as a checklist before I start invoicing and review it again after invoicing to make certain that nothing has been overlooked. Clunky? Yes. Effective? Absolutely!
