Why does it SO long to post a trial balance to a tax return -
10-20 minutes - I could do it by hand faster

I guess your first trial has then taught you, Shirley, that from now on you may as well bypass that trial balance "utility" (which isn't so useful to you) and do it by hand! I have no idea why it would take so long. I've never used it, but I'm a great believer in doing for myself, whatever I can do for myself.
