posting of checks in Non-profit premier 2011
checks dated 2011 being posted before those issued in 2008, 2009 etc. What can I do to correct this problem?

if you mean that you are entering them and will later enter older checks, it's no problem. QB will sort them by date of transaction, not date of entry.

What I would like is for Quickbooks to post the checks/transactions in sequence per date of issue. Currently I have checks which were issued in CY2011 posted prior to 2008 etc.

QB can only sort the checks by date on the check, not the date you issue the check. If you write out a check today but date the check 1/14/2008, QB will enter it in 2008.

I installed Quickbooks back in October 2008 and it has always posted checks by the dates they were issued. As of late it has been posting checks as I mentioned, prior to CY2008 etc. My reconciliations balance out correctly but I have to scroll thruogh my check register to find the end date for the months being reconciled.

This problem is in the check register and not the reconciliation report.

to be clear, you are saying that if you enter several checks, that some of your more recent checks appear before some of the older checks?

no way! you sure you have the year correct? if so, go to File > Utilities > Verify Data. if prompted, rebuild your data.
