Phantom extraneous marks

I have a client who just starting using qb. He input the inventory. When printing an invoice to his customers some items had 2 lines. The 2nd one is blank. We checked one of the inventory items and discovered that there were several dots a few lines below the description. We've tried to re-write the description and delete the dots. All looks fine, so I hit the ok, and the dots showed up again.I don't know how to correct this problem of removing unwanted marks. Thanks in advance.

Doesn't sound right. I would have to see the file but without seeing it to me it sounds like when you entered the description you hit enter then tab to the cost. Open one of the items it is doing this to go to the description part put you cursor under the last line in the description then hit backspace then be sure to do the same thing on the sales side if you have double sides items. Let me know if this works.

Hi there! I hope I can add some assistance here too. I'm not sure how you brought in the items. Did you import them? I would export out the item list and look at it in excel. There can be 2 different desciption fields, so make sure both are accurate. If you see things that don't look right, you can fix them right in excel and then re-import the .iif file. If you still have issues, try resorting it item list. To do this, open the list, hit the list button at the bottom and the select resort list. Since its a new file, I wouldn't expect there to be many inactive items, but make sure to include them in the resort. If this doesn't work, there may be some other things going on. Also, its always a good precaution to make a backup before working with imports to the data file. Let me know what happens after you try these things.

Amy
