Payroll FUTA Error
EasyAcctPayroll. With the new update the FUTA is being computed for the year as .6% instead of .8 for the first six months and then .6% last six months.

I've been trying to duplicate the situation you described and I'm not able to do so. I relcalculated the checks, reposted and the results are correct. (See the attached pic of the tax requirements section where the two rates are broken out separately.) I have a few questions for you to help troubleshoot the problem:
- If you print the payroll journal for the year, does it show the break down of the FUTA tax correctly in the Tax Requirements section (as shown in the picture)?
- Are you looking at the 940 to see the .8% for the entire year?
- If so, the 2010 940 form is still being used which only takes into account the .8% rate, the 2011 form (which is released in the Dec/Jan timeframe) will include both rates.
- Instead, review the payroll journal for the correct and latest information (until the 2011 940 is available).
If the payroll journal is incorrect, or if you are looking at another report than Form 940:
- If you are looking at a different report (or screen) to see the .8% applied for the entire year, which report/screen are you reviewing?
- If you go to System > System Utilities > System Characteristics, is the drive for the payroll tax tables something besides C:\?
- Have you recalculated checks for Q1/Q2 or both?
- Is your data on a network?
