I have an employee who is not getting Fed or State withholdings taken from his paycheck. He does earn enough (per the salary paycheck caluclator) & it should be taken out, but it's not! I have double & triple checked that he is set up correctly (just like the other 30 employees). HELP!
Take a look to see if the employee is setup as a Nonresident Alien. The only place to see and adjust is in the Payroll Setup. This cannot be checked in the Employee Center>Edit.
Got to Payroll Setup> Employee Setup>Employee List, the edit Employee with the problem; keep clicking Next until you get to: Enter federal tax info..".
If the Nonresident Alien Withholding: is "Withhold as Nonresident Alien", the taxes table will default to no taxes withheld.
Best guess.
