Paying SMP to the same employee for the second time

QuickBooks UK : Pro 2012

Employee had a child in 2009 and returned to work 29/12/2009. Second child is due 25/01/2012 and maternity leave started 01/12/11

Info entered under statury pay info is correct but there are now two entries for Maternity Leave. When trying to calculate salary no SMP is being calculated and Quickbooks says SMP period has ended no SMP will be calculated?

The above has now changed and quickbooks is showing SMP on the payroll cheque but the figure is zero??

Does anyone know how to correct ?

Hi Mary,

You will need to clear the previous Maternity Info and related journal prior to entering the new SMP details.

Hi Diana,

I'm in the same boat but to delete the prior journal info means deleting the employee's pay checks. Or at least that's what QB is telling me I need to do. But if I do that, won't my accounts will be out of whack?!
