The solution
Enter the bill via enter bills. Example , the bill is entered for $200. Go to pay bills, select the bill for $200 and then go to the right side of the screen and where it says the "amount to pay" change it to $100. Click on pay selected bill and you have created a check for $100. The remaining $100 will still show up in A/P until you decide to pay the balance.
