Paper products for 1099, W-2s and year end reports.

I think I heard last year that you can print 1099/s on regular paper and not special paper. Is that right? Where do I get the W-2 etc paper? I don't want to wait until the last minute because we have a new person and it could be stressful to try to do it all at the last minute. They are in Texas-what types of places have the best deals and rates for them>

Actually, 1099's are one of the few forms that require pre-printed forms (IRS won't budge on this.) W-2s can be printed on white paper.

Intuit, among others, sells stock for year end. To visit our site, try http://intuitmarket.intuit.com...

So, not to be able to print 1099s is an IRS thing? This was a bit irritating wondering why QB didn't include this, now I know. Unfortunately for me, I bought preprintec W2s then discovered QB did that. Hopefully I will remember next year.

:)

That is not totally true. Intuits EasyAcct Program laser generates all copies of the 1099's except for IRS Copy.

I understand the IRS requires a special form. What I don't understand is I can print the 1099 with Turbotax why not with Quickbook?

Also if I get the 1099 forms from Intuit how are the different copies for one person printed with a laser or inkjet printer?

Finally how is the IRS copy taken care of?
