Outlook?
Any plans to sync with Outlook contacts?
Any plans to sync with Outlook contacts?
We are seriously considering this functionality, but cannot, unfortunately, promise a specific release date.
Please consider it VERY seriously! Especially integration with outlook business contact manager. Without this link, the utility is minimized.
The ability to sync the Lacerte schedule with the Outlook calendar would be amazingly useful, also.
I second the motion to have the Lacerte schedule sync with the Outlook calendar. I pre-schedule approximately three-fourths of my tax appointments and I like them to print on the organizers but I manage them in Outlook. I am currently doing the "syncing" manually and it is not fun!
I'm interested in hearing more from all of you on what you have to say and like to speak with you on the phone about your ideas. If you're interested, please email me your phone number to practicemanagement@intuit.com and I'll be happy to speak with you in more detail about this as this is something we are currently exploring.
Thanks for your feedback. What else (if anything) does Outlook integration mean to you? Does it include tracking client contact information, calendar appointments, or emails within practice management? What are the most critical parts of this integration?
I want Outlook to be the hub of my Contact Info, Email & Calendar between Lacerte & QB. The most important function for me is to be able to keep contact information in sync between Lacerte & QB, PPM now does that, but lacks some of the excellent communication functions that Outlook has. In my opinion, Intuit should use Outlooks strength rather than trying to reinvent the wheel. Get all 3 products to share data and you've got something.
Thanks for everyone's feedback. I'd love to speak with you on the phone about this in more detail. Please send me a good number to reach you at at practicemanagement@intuit.com and I'll reach out to you about your thoughts.
Thanks!
One of the problems I see is that QB, Lacerte and Outlook all have different fields for customer information. Example, QB has two telephone #s, Lacerte has 8 including spouse, Outlook can have 4. It is going to be tough syncing all applications having to remember that taxpayer home phone (Lacerte) equals primary phone in QB. I would like to see a concerted effort to make the customer data contained in each application pretty much the same fields.
