I'm not interested in setting up payroll on our QB. We are very small and use an outside service for payroll. we take the auto deduction out of company checking account using an expense account. Our accountant does everything else and we do not want to change that. We are only using QB to write checks. Is it possible to get that expense account to show up on a P&L? If so, what can I do? Thank you.
What expense account are you using? It should show on the P&L. Is it an active account?
Thank you for your reply. The accountant put it as just an an expense, tax linemapping is deductions: salaries and wages. We just use QB for expenses and income for a service business. When I run a standard P&L, it is not there.
You should have a P&L line for Salaries and Wages then. Sorry, I can't tell what's going on without seeing the file, but it should definitely be showing on your P&L if you're entering the transactions.
How do I create a line for salaries and wages then without changing what the accountant set up as just an expense account?
Again, very simple service business, money in, money out, just putting in payroll deductions from outside payroll service to keep business account reconciled.
