Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). Opening equity has changed.

US QuickBooks Pro for Windows : 2009

My opening equity for 2008 and 2009 is different than it was last year. It is off $30.00 in 2008 and almost $2,000 in 2009.  Sometime during 2010, someone must have posted a transaction to both years. How can I find out who posted to the prior periods and what accounts are affected?

Go to the Chart of Accounts, Double Click on Opening Balance Equity to see the register with the activity in it.  To find out who posted things, go to Reports> Accountant & Taxes > Audit Trail
