Online Banking 2009 Issues

Hi Everyone!

Has the BOA problem been resolved? Seems silly that one of the largest banks out there and we can't get the two to sync BEFORE the software is released. IF it hasn't been resolved, when do we expect it to be complete?

Good morning,

A quick update on Bank of America. They planned to update their financial data back end systems last Friday, 12/5 (this is an OFX update). Then they plan to enable QB 2009 this coming Friday 12/12.

I am actively working to get confirmations that the OFX update occured and that they are on schedule for 12/12.

Please note, as before, you can still download your statement from the BofA site and import to QB manually through their "web connect" service.

I will post again when I have confirmations from Bank of America.

Just a quick follow up. I got a confirmation from Bank of America that their update on Friday 12/5 went smoothly. They are on track for another update on Friday, 12/12, that will enable QuickBooks 2009 to use their "direct connect."

I will post more if I hear anything different.

I am having some different problems with olb2009. It talks a full minute to open the olb main window. Then it takes another minute to open and close each window within olb. This problem occurs on top of all the other problems with the olb module and my bank was taken over by BoA. I am running MS Vista on Intel Core 2 CPU 6400@2.13GHz, 2045mb RAM. All eye candy on Vista is turned off. This should be plenty of horse power to run QB without having to wait for 60 seconds to open and close each window. All the other modules work just fine.

In response to the last post, in the previous thread I referenced an update where the start-up time for online banking windows should increase, especially for users who have many years of data in QB. This update should address your issue, but if it doesn't please let me know.

Sorry, I meant the the start-up time will decrease! I meant to say the performance will increase... sorry for the mis-type. The update will be available on 12/18 via auto update in QB.

We are now only loading the last year's worth of data, rather than all of the transactions.

I am a Bank of America Business account holder. I was able to use QB 2009 for the month of November. I have not been able to get it to work in December. I called BOA Quickbooks help today and was told that they will not be supporting the 2009 version of QuickBooks until Feb 2009. My software does not work at all right now at all to download transactions and the support department is not willing to help.

The bad thing is that intuit is still stating that the new online banking is an upgrade over the previous 2008 version. See their recent Utube video that was attached in an email from Intuit titled Pro Advisor alert. They still don't understand!

Good afternoon,

A web download with our first update will be available tomorrow, 12/11. You can download it at this site: www.quickbooks.com/support go to "updates and downloads" in the navigation bar. Make sure you have the right product selected and there will be a link that will say "What's new in 2009 (R4)"

On 12/18 we will have a second update, which will include all the R4 fixes and also the add multiple for online banking. This will be both a web download and an auto update in QuickBooks.

Bank of America should be rolling out a fix for their systems this Friday, 12/12.

Please tell me that the updated dropdowns will find subaccounts. The existing ones don't and this makes them useless for anyone using a lot of subaccounts.

Also, please tell me that copy/cut/paste functions will now work in the fields and memo's; this is a Windows application right?

Also please tell me that when adding a transaction the amount of the transaction will actually show up in the split dialog. I don't need to split the transaction but do need to use the split dialog to assign the transaction to a customer. The fact that the total amount does not show up in the split transaction screen is ridicules. Why am I downloading from my bank if the amount doesn’t show up when adding the transaction?

Also, please tell me that it won’t “Update Branding Files” each day I do my first download. It wastes my time.

Finally, please tell me that you fixed the reading pane on the left so that all the information isn’t truncated when viewing (payee names, dates etc.). I know I can resize these columns but it doesn’t remember my changes and I have to do this every time.

Good morning,

The web download update should be available at 10:30 AM this morning (12/11).

Couple quick comments:

1. The new drop down Quick Fill should find sub accounts. (You can start typing the sub account name and it will search for it, or you can type in the account name, go to the end and keep typing, or use the drop down)

2. We know there are other UI updates that we need to do, this update will not include them all, we are still working and prioritizing what to fix next (for example... we know the splits pre-fill, UI stickiness are important -- but they won't be in this update) - I will provide an update when I know more on what and when...

3. The "update branding files" is not labeled in the best way, we are actually checking to see if new banks have been added to the list of banks that support QB

Thanks for the quick response. If I'm not trying to setup a new bank or account for online banking then I certainly do not need QB to update the branding files. I already have my account setup so when I go to download transactions my expectation is to enter my password and click "Go". I don't want to wait for QB to update it's list of banks each time, I just want to do my work.

It also returns me to my previously opened windows when I'm done--that's nice.

I am new to Quickbooks. I am used to Quicken and the download format for online banking. I converted from Quicken to Quickbooks. My first problem was that the download imported several transactions most of being duplicates to what was already in the check book. At the time I did not have the option to manually match the transactions and my only option was to delete them instead of having double transactions (Strangely enough these doubles were the same check numbers and amounts that would not match). I deleted those downloaded transactions and the next 2 times I got my new downloads the same duplicate transactions would appear again. I again deleted these download transactions. About the third or fourth download it stopped downloading the duplicates. As a matter of fact it will not download any new transactions at all on 2 different accounts at the bank I use. I resorted to reading all that I could and found the online banking issues and waited until today to download the new patch. I installed the new patch without a hitch. I then attempted a download from my bank of new transactions and still get no new transactions please try tomorrow. I am without clues here. I know there are multiple transactions that should download and I get nothing. Let me ask this......... with this new patch and whatever was re-written in Quickbooks code, does my bank need new software as I am reading an issue with BOA? I use a small chain of banks in Texas called First Bank. What to do?
