Really?  You're actually working on this?  Your original response was January 28th of this year.

Isn't this a simple programming issue?  Look in QuickBooks version 2006 and before when the sort by date (and other options) were available.

Looks like this issue is still open with a less than ideal response from the Intuit team. Or is there an actual update on this issue in the last 7 months?

Hi balakrishna-  I just purchased QB 2011.  I can't figure out how to use this feature.  the "payments to deposit" window will not allow me to sort by date.  Please tell me how to do this.  If it is not possible, please let me know how I can get a refund for the $200 I just spent to upgrade based on your post here.

thank you,

cliff

Thank you for including this in Quickbooks 2011. Many users will appreciate the return of this time saving feature.

Now, how will this help those of us who just purchased 2010 within the last year? Does this mean we have to use this now out-of-date version for two more years, and not have the ability to sort payments to deposit by date, until we update to the next version?

Or, will we get a special deal on 2011?

By the way, one of your sales' staff told me that the sort payments to deposit by date function was in 2010 when she was encouraging me to purchase it.  I will not forgive her for that obvious lie.

Will those of us who purchased version 2010 get an update with a repair or do we have to purchase a new 2011 version.  More likely, this probably means we will have to wait until 2013 when our existing 2010 version is no longer supported by Intuit.

Can someone at Intuit please respond?

This update is crucial and is a time consuming problem when you have many deposits from different buyers and have different payment methods as well. The date is the easiest and fastest way I can make my daily deposits from my buyers but NO, I have to pick and choose each day through my payments to make the days deposit. I should not be forced into having to upgrade my software each year just to fix something you guys can take care of. It's a darn pop up window with a sort issue and shouldn't be too complicated to fix. We pay good money for this software and deserve to have something so critical fixed soon.

According to this post it has been in the fix for a year. Really Intuit, can't you do  better for your customers?

How maddening that we can't get a satisfactory answer--or any answer for that matter in a timely manner.  This is a valid complaint and it's been on the books long enough that anyone that has 2010 should be given the upgrade to 2011 if that is the only answer.  How loud/long do customers have to complain before customer service responds?

If you purchased QB 2010 within the migration period--about a month or 2 before QB 2011 was released, then I think you can get a free or minimal cost upgrade to 2011.  Call Intuit for details.

QB 2010 did not include this feature -- it was new for 2011 just like a lot of other features.  Every year new features and functionality are added to the program.  If they will help you be more productive or efficient then it may be worth it to buy the new year.  For example, QB Pro 2011 was on sale for about $100 at Sam's & Costco (it may still be available).  That isn't much if the new features will help you in your business.

If you want to talk to customer service, you should call Intuit.  They don't monitor every post on the community forum.

Just a note: QB version 2006 did have the ability to sort payments to deposit by date.  That ability was taken away in version 2007.  Years and thousands of views of variations on this issue may finally have prompted QB to return this function.  So, while it may seem like a new feature or function, it actually is a return of something they took away.  And those of us who purchased 2010 will have to put up with this irritation until we are forced to buy 2013 when QB will no longer support the three year old version we just purchased.

A second note:  It takes the good work and responses of users such as Michelle Long CPA to answer issues that should be addressed by Quickbooks.  Customer service is not what QB does, they leave it to their users to figure out how to solve problems or more often, find out there is no solution.

I am using QB Pro 2010 and it will not let me sort by date. It used to be always sorted by date, but now it is sorted by type, and it is extremely difficult to process the deposits. I have checked to make sure I have no updates, and it says there are none. Please help, this is eating my time.

It is absolutely ridiculous that this feature is not available in the "Make Deposits" window in QB2010. I cannot believe that it would not be possible to add this in one of the standard auto-updates.

But over many years of using QB (from 2002) I have come to the conclusion that Intuit only ever have one answer to even MAJOR bugs or ommissions in their software  ......

BUY THE NEXT VERSION!

They really don't care about customers as they know that they have a virtual monopoly over software for small business accounts. Because, in the main, it does what it needs to. But the lack of respose to these issues is INFURIATING!!!!!!
