This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! No, but that is a great idea, I will forward your suggestion. If anyone else would find an online organizer helpful, please add a comment to this question.

ProSeries have an online version a few year ago.  To study history see the post on 05/06/09 "Ability to complete online organizers..." There were 2 fatal flaws,  and it died a deserved quiet death.

First, it was born before it's time. Back then the clients answers was well recorded in history - If the client gotta do it, they'll do it on turbo tax, and Intuit gets to eat our cake. Unlike Peter Pan, gen X and gen Y did grow older, they can text and they can type, but you can't read their writing or printing.

Second was Intuit's marketing, or specifically pricing.  Because an online organizer had to be hosted, and because of all the changes in the tax program, it takes a fair amount of annual programming, to keep it flowing smoothly into the tax program, Intuit priced it in the pay-per-return Stratosphere.  Therefore it was DOA.

The time is right for a second attempt, price it in line with Document eSort and it would be a winner.  Also if the preparer could push the organizers out to everyone at a nominal cost, (similar to a portal) and then pay extra for those that the client actually filled out and are worth importing, many more preparers would be willing to give it a try.

Oh for a visionary at Intuit with an R&D budget!

I think it's a great idea. My website has one and some clients use it but I then have to manually move the data to Proseries, so I would love one that is integrated. The portal is also a great idea.
