OK Business Activity Tax Return BT-190

Lacerte : 2010

Has anyone tried to do one yet for a foreign corporation (S Corporation module) where income is apportioned to Oklahoma?

While OK revenue and total revenue show on page 2, the apportionment % is not being calculated.  Total federal revenue is being shown on page 1, Part 1, Line 1.  Total federal expenses, minus some of the unallowable ones but not all, are being shown on Part 1 Line 2.

I've got a director showing up on Part 5 as a Responsible Party that I don't think should be there.  I can't find a way to suppress her on this form (I need her to be shown on TX)

This is a brief highlight of what look like bugs to me.  I realize it is a new form/new tax, but it is due July 1.  Any suggestions are welcome.

The more I know, the more I don't know.

If it's any consolation, it's not actually due until September 15th, in that it's not late until after that date.

At CPE yesterday, the OTC basically said "heck if we know how to fill out that form; tell us what questions you have and we'll try to come up with some answers."

If I wanted phone calls, my phone number would be in my profile. If you have a question, post it in the applicable forum.

Thanks Phoebe

Do you think OTC was saying don't even try to follow the directions that come with the form?

No, they felt the instructions to be correct (although not necessarily complete).  I agree that Lacerte hasn't been successful in generating forms that comply with the instructions.

I anticipate that the OTC isn't going to worry much about presentation this year, since it has zero effect on tax (which is "same as last year or $25").  But I personally would like to have close-to-accurate presentation.

UPDATE Last week's Lacerte update appears to have fixed the apportionment issue.

It did not fix the income and deductions part (Lacerte picks up all income and all expenses-it does not remove the nonallowable ones per the OK instructions) but I can get them to be correct with the overrides.  I think I have an acceptable return now.
