NYS SDI tax
NY taxes the employers SUI on forms NYS45MN.. But there is no tax for DBL on that form. In employee records (the SDI is checked).. If I uncheck it, I get these scary messages that I should NOT uncheck this tax.. I get billed once a year from NY for DBL Insurance.. What happens is when this item is checked it accumulates a liability that I never pay during the year (because I pay it all at once at the beginning of my policy).. I have to adjust the liability to income because I am already expensing my policy amount when I pay it.. CAN I uncheck this box so it does not accrue a liability for 2007? The messages seem pretty scary. I do withhold .60 on each employees paycheck for SDI, but I do not think it ahs anything to do with the SDI accumulating..
