I am having the same problem. Have you been able to resolve? I am using QB 2011, windows 7 and Kaspersky virus software. Is this the same for you?
I am using Window 7 and Mcaffee. It seems better today! Don't know what changed!



It started when I rebooted because Quickbooks couldn't access the printer. When I restarted, it spent all day intermittently "not responding.

When opening QuickBooks, click on any activity (write checks, customer center, employee center, any thing) and it takes several minutes to move between windows. I especially notice it when opening the employee window. Another note... I have computers with both Windows 7 Home and Windows 7 professional, both computers have Kaspersky, but I'm only have an issue with the windows 7 computer.
I have Quickbooks Pro 2012, Windows 7 and Kapersky antivirus software. I spent quite some time on the phone with Intuit yesterday. We updated, uninstalled Quickbooks and reinstalled and continued to have the same problem with being so sluggish. I'm stumped.
I believe that I have narrowed this down to an issue relating to payroll and/or payroll updates. If I open a QuickBooks file with payroll running, I have the problem with 'not responding' when attempting a task. If I open a QuickBooks file that doesn't have payroll, I don't seem to have the problem. Any assistance would be appreciated. I have reported this problem as a bug as well.
After disabling my Kaspersky software, my system seems to be back to normal working order. Interestly enough, my computers that are not running Windows 7 home, but are running Kaspersky aren't having the problem. Sounds like I'll need to contact Kaspersky about the problem.
