No W-2 for foreign earned income...
How would you report income from a foreign employer that doesn't produce W2's, and the taxpayer is a US resident?

Foreign Employer Compensation - Form FEC
Check the box to indicate the compensation reported is from a non-U.S. employer who did not issue a Form W-2.
When this box is marked, the e-file program creates Form FEC (Foreign Employer Compensation) records in the e-file. Form FEC, along Form W-2, supports compensation amounts reported on Line 7 of Form 1040 and 1040A, and Line 1, of Form 1040EZ.
I am a residen Alien so a US Taxpayer, I worked for a foreign employer in the USA. My foreign employer provided me a tax statement that is a foreign one and not a USA w-2, how I should file it?
thanks, so line 7 of 1040 form, so I have to create a fake w-2 report based on what the foreign employer gave me?
so, in which line have I to put it in the form 1040?
If I put it in line 7 then am I obliged to fill the w-2?
In Lacerte, you just check the Foreign Wages box. If you're using some other software, you need to ask in the forum for that software.
tks, I am using Turbotax
Anyway, the any software will follow the law, so my question is: by law my income has to go in form 1040... of course. Which line? line 7?
If it will go in line 7, then I have to fill a w-2 that I have not
You need to ask TurboTax how to do it. Wages, regardless of whether US or foreign, go on Line 7.
