I am not pleased that the Premier Accountant Edition 2012 is no longer part of the choices available with the Premier package as in the past Editions, and is only available for ProAdvisors as a standalone product. THis type of marketing discourages any loyalty to the product.
Hmmm - had a second thought. Think Intuit is setting it up to charge the "Accountant Edition" people for every business file they have, a seperate fee to do. Much like they did with Qtax. Would not surprise me. Intuit is no stupid - if they can find more revenue.
QBQUEEN
Agreed. Every thing seems to be "a la carte" with Intuit. The fact they removed Premier Accountant Edition from the available editions speak to their decision of generating new inccome that was not there previously.

TOO FUNNY!
Thanks for putting some light humour on this thread. WE & Eric at Intuit all need it.
Some us us older guys are getting quite stressed. Read a thread that someone updated from QB2011 to QB2012 & has stated that "Write chqs" (manual chqs) does not allow entry of the manual chq number without fidilling around. That was an upgrade problem before (note always worked before for many, many years) that took Intuit 2 months to fix - may I say re-fix again .Intuit - say it is not so! WE lose important things with every upgrade & then have to endure problems with things that have worked for over 20 years. All of the mis-steps cause us so much extra time! QUICKBOOKS!? Some us us old guys get cranky!
I'm game for an "Occupy Intuit" movement.
Thanks for the chuckle!

There is not much here that I want or need. Small tweaks, that I will never look at or ever use.
Give us back - something that was useful - The Condense Feature. that we had in QB2007 & prior. It worked well & was USEFUL to us QB guys.
I have paid the yearly subscription fee, which goes up every year. I have not got one new thing ,that has any impact on our business - we already know how to run it.
What we have lost - is the Condense feature. You Intuit guys make think it is small & just say - start a new file.
Well! You Intuit guys have alot more time than I do. You think it is simple to start a new new file? Try that over more than Ten fold. I do not see any volunteers to do the work involved from you Intuit guys. My clients have to pay me to do the work. And since they never had to do it before (condense worked) Would you Intuit guys be willing to give your free time? OK I get it.
Give us back our Condense Feature. It worked well & we should not have to pay more to get so much less.
QBQUEEN
I agree wholeheartedly.
Please, please, please bring back the Condense Feature.
I have to buy extra program to do this function. I pay enough each year in subscription fee which goes up every year. I should not have to pay extra for this function.
I agree three................it gets more + more expensive every year with few useful changes.
It's just a huge cash grab by the " in twits" but I have to order it as I need it for payroll.
Accountants' edition is still available...
Yes, the Accountants' Edition is available but it is not part of the "Suite" that comes with the Premier Edtion's set of versions. I installed 2012 Premier and once I tried to choose the Accountants' Premier Edition I noticed it was not part of the selection as it once was. It is now marketed as a ProAdvisor only package.
Actually, just noticed that...
Something I will have to address, because at some of my clients I like running the Accountant's version....
*Bump* QB2012 R5 Update is now avaliable! Click here to learn more on how to update QuickBooks.
Why R5?
You may notice that the release number for QuickBooks 2012 jumped from R1 to R5 after the update. It is normal. This is because we want to be consistent with our US counterpart.
Eric
Everytime, you want to be " consistent to our US counterpart" we in Canada loose a great deal. Can you not stand up for us Canadian guys, like you used to? We have lost so much useful stuff & got only back "some nice stuff".
I will stop ragging on you, when you finally tell me, that Intuit will not listen to you, or any Canadian customers. Seems to me, that is the way it is.
Please confirm.
Thanks
QBQUEEN
QBQueen,
As you are a active contributor on the community (as well as many others-you know who you are!), we do value your comments and feedback. All your feedback are captured and passed onto product development and upper management. I try my best to keep my community members informed about the latest changes and to assist in anyway I can.
The 2 products maybe similar, but there are alot of things in the backend that requires work to make it happen.
I am just the messenger (just doing my job!)
Thanks!
Eric (The messenger)
Thank you for the job that you do (including putting up with some us us folks).
It just gets frustrating when we get a few nice new things, but very useful good things, that we had for years, get taken away.
I hope you have a nice Christmas break & Santa brings you something special.
QBQUEEN

I've told the office NOT to update our client files to 2012. We will be using it for new clients who purchase 2012 and for the payroll clients who will have to update in June, but we will not be using it for our current clients until the date setup does NOT come from the computer regional settings.
