need Report for expenses not associated with Customer:Job

US QuickBooks Pro for Windows : 2010

I want a report that shows all expenses that have not been associated with a Customer:Job, and whether or not it's billable.

It seems, if the Customer:job field has been left blank, it's not displayed on any of the reports I've tried to create.

We created a "customer:jobs" for in-house expenses like mangement, administrative or marketing expenses so we can run reports.

How did you create the "customer:jobs"?  What does it contain?

I'm not looking for expenses associated with a customer:job.  I'm looking to list all expenditures that have not yet been associated with a customer:job.

We added a customer (New customer/job" when you are in the Customer Center) named "Management"  and one named "Marketing". When you enter a non-job related bill, the expenses are then "billed" to one of these "customers" rather than to an actual customer/job. Then you can run a Job Profitability Detail report for on the "customer" named 'Management" (Reports>Jobs, Time and Mileage). I hope this helps.

My question is still unanswered.  I want an easy way to see which transactions do not yet have an associated Customer:Job set.

Reports > Company & Financial > Profit & Loss Standard enter the appropriate dates and change the Columns to Customer:Job.  Then, scroll over to the far right -- next to the total column you will see a column called No Name -- double click on the amounts for the details.

Thank you Michelle.  But apparently QB Pro 2010 for Win does not have this feature :-/.  No "no name" column.  I guess it was a deficiency that they corrected in a later version.

If you changed the columns to Customer:Job and you don't see the No Name column, then everything has been assigned to a customer:job.  You can test it -- edit a transaction to remove the customer:job name (make sure it is in the right date range).  Then, look at the report for the No Name column.  Then, edit to change it back. :)

This has worked for years. :)

I did test it, with exactly those steps.  When I clear the Customer:Job field of a transaction, that transaction disappears from the report altogether.

If it's worked for years then I guess I should be contacting Intuit.
