I have started a small business and it is growing. While I am at the front lines taking care of this growing business I desperately need someone behind the scenes to do all the basics, and by basics I mean: register the business name, establish the type of employee contract I should use, and company insurance.

Is this the responsibility of a book keeper? Who can help with behind the scenes responsibilities while I am busy conducting the business of my business?
Thanks for your time,

your business's professionally qualified lawyer will be of assistance in drawing and advising on legal contracts, and your buisiness's professionally qualified accountant will have the expertise to advise you on tax, accounting, financing and business consulting matters.
finally, you business's trained and experienced bookkeeper can carry out the record-keeping functions and provide general business assistance
The above three classes of expert assistance are professionally trained in the special skilled areas still lacking in your new first business venture.
- first stop should probably be your business's accountant though, as he will have more precise suggestions based on the exact situation

Did you get your issue sorted out? If not maybe I could offer some thoughts.
Through our business we offer a virtual FD (Finance Director) service to micro and small businesses that don't have the resources to employ a full time finance person. Although a bookkeeper will be able to crunch the numbers for you they are usually less experienced in helping to interpret them. Our virtual FD service is customizable from a few hours up to anything that you want it to be, but can include help to set up the operational elements of your business, how to turn your data and numbers into market intelligence, coaching or mentoring, and access to a global network of business advisers and business facilitators.
Take a look at our website - Vector Accountants www.numbersanddirection.com - if you are near Cambridgeshire then please contact us and we can meet to discuss your specific needs. If you are elsewhere then please do contact us anyway - we have a network of affiliated FD's throughout the country who would be happy to talk with you about our outsourced bookkeeping solutions.
If that doesn't appeal to you then can I suggest that when you interview for an accountant you challenge them on their experience of running a business to ensure that you get access to a qualified business adviser who can add value to your business.
Regards
Ian
