Did you clear a transaction in a period after the closing date of the reconciliation report? Were reconciled transactions changed or deleted? Did you run the report "static" (meaning did you run the report as it was done by the client) or did you run the report with any changes made?
The second option (provided that the person reconciling the account did not clear transactions in a future period) should give you the register balance as of the date of the reconciliation.

Cidmoore, thank you for your comment. Per the audit trail there is nothing deleted on deposits or any other transactions for the check register not to balance to the reconciled $$$$. I am still looking for other alternatives/answers

Are you just looking at the check register balance in QuickBooks? It will not match the reconciled bank balance -- there are usually outstanding checks which have been deducted from the register and not the bank and other transactions entered after the bank statement ending date.

Hi Michelle, yes, I agree with the other transactions, but, it should balance if you have reconciled that month per the bank statement, with all deposits and all debits entered, correct?

You reconciled the account right? Is the beginning balance in the reconciliation window still the same as the ending balance you reconciled? If so, then don't worry about it. Outstanding checks have been deducted from the check register but not the bank balance -- so they won't agree. This is normal.
