Unfortunately, you are limited to a single entity in the 1040 ,module.
I believe we have a work around for this problem even though Lacerte said it would not work in the above referenced article. Yesterday we took one of our clients with multiple SMLLC's and copied it. In the copied file we eliminated the data for the first SMLLC and then we efiled both of them. Lacerte allowed us to efile both even though the SSN was the same and we received the acceptance acknowledgement for both returns from NYS by the end of the day yesterday. This makes sense when you think about it since the heading of the form IT-204-LL is the name and ID number of the SMLLC, which is unique. We will continue to process our multiple SMLLC individuals this way.
Marty,
Put in an enhancement either through this link or through the Lacerte software. It will go straight to the person who makes the decisions about what changes to make. Also, you can vote on other suggestions to give them more importance.
Cool?
Here's an article with more info: http://my.lacerte.intuit.com/support/document.aspx?product=LACERTE_TAX&id=GEN80686
This is totally unacceptable. Lacerte should have programmed for this.
Since I REP my partnerships I have to pay $$$ for Lacerte's problem?
So typical
Marty - forgive my monkey brain - wasn't sure on mandate. My point was, it wasn't even available in 1040 until this year. So e-file or not, you would have had to use the 1065 module last year, no? So REP (and I get it) is same either way, no? Am I all wet?
Not trying to pick a fight,
Bill
The State should have an app on their website to handle this the same way they handle sales tax filings. And for that matter, if NYS wasn't so money hungry, the fee would be incorporated into 1040 and partnership filings - that's how it was when the geniuses in Albany first cooked this thing up.
You realize you are talking about NYS. They should have incorporated the MTA tax with the SWT and SUI form. Would have saved $$.
REP means I have to pay. But in addition to that I have to spend time inputting basic info. Time spent that I cannot bill for.
Hopefully this will be addressed next year.
