This allows more than one user of the datafile each with different access rigths. or for multiple users to access all at once via a mutiuser system.

But how do I set this up right...
My boss has the computer with the main company file. I need to be able to access that company file at the same time,
...if is she is busy making an invoice, i must be able to make the next invoice. is that possible?

Yes that is certainly possible and on the pc this is hosting the datafile run the utility to host multiple users. This assumes that you are on a network or linked by a ethernet crossover cable. or place the datafile on a server and run the dbmanager on that .
Then each of you can connect together.

Thank you for all your help. but appart from the QBManager and the fact that I had all my settings right but i kept crashing down until some-one gave me the following tip:

This certainly sorted out my problem faster than the ways in which i treid to get help or the amount of pages printed from all the help files in order to get my problem sorted
