Multi-Currency support?

I run a services business, and occasionally have clients in Europe paying in Euro. My accountant will handle taxes, but is there a version of Inuit software that will let me record and report on revenue in other currencies? Ideally, it would also support invoice generation (statement balances, etc., by account) in Euro, or possibly even mixed (e.g., one client that is billed sometimes in US $, sometimes in Euro, sometimes pays in either / or currency, depending on whatever exchange rate they and I agree on for a particular transaction). Thanks for your help!

You could check out this third party credit card processor called crystalpayments (www.crystalpayments.biz). Pls contact Mike Soloman at mike.s@crystalpayments.biz

Thanks, iedefender, but I have no need of credit card processing services.

Rather, I need a simple accounting and invoicing package that will support entries in Euro as well as US$.

I do not need Euro converted into $ for me I do that already.

Wdave,

I don't think QB is providing multi currency support for that you need to convert your client's transcation in US $. The other question in my mind is if your client is in USA and if he/she is making all the payments from US thru bank or other agency they will definitely convert this in US $ at the time of charging to your client. I am not sure about your situation but just to share my view.

Thanks for your input, Janak!

I have a European account (which deals only in Euro), and an American account (US $ only). I suppose I can purchase and use a European version of QB, separately from the US version, but then I might as well be running two separate companies, as I will not be able to prepare combined reports.

At least I know that the feature is not there, and well-hidden, but in fact it doesn't exist.

Thanks to all for your help!

WDave,

Unluckily QuickBooks doesn't support this feature at this time. We would love to hear more on how you are currently working around this issue. How do you track your foreign currency bank accounts today? How would you like to do it?

Your input could definitely help other users in the same situation, as well as help us improve our products in the future!

Thanks for your definitive answer, Pranay.

Today, I track things manually, as my business levels are still low enough that I can do this. (Consulting on the side of my day job.) I hope to expand soon, though, and am looking for a solution that will help me do all the usual things that QuickBooks does, but for two or more currencies. E.g., the occasional client (for services provided mostly online, similar to web design) who is in another country, and pays in that currency into my bank account in that country.

My taxes are kept separately, but it'd be handy to be able to, for example, rank my clients by YTD revenues, or compare profit margins (percentages or ratios) regardless of currencies. They could be USD, EUR, or GBP, so far. With luck, maybe other currencies, countries, and clients, too!

For now, I expect to use separate solutions, and just pull data into an Excel spreadsheet for comparison and sorting.
