Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! During this time, you can shop, but can’t place orders online, activate products or update account info. We apologize for the inconvenience & thank you for patience while we improve our infrastructure to better serve you. International versions are unaffected. For more info, see our community discussion.

US QuickBooks Pro for Windows : 2012

My wife and I each have our own businesses, and we file a joint return. How is this done in quickbooks?

  1. It sound like both have different type of businesses.  If so then open two companies in the quickbooks.  One company in quickbooks is for your wife, and one for you.  You can easily create companies in the quickbooks.  Open the quickbooks and go to file>new company and follow the step.
  2. You are filing  joing return and both of you are "sole proprietor".  Each of you going to have its on "sch C" on the personal return, that will show P&L for each of you.

If this is the answer pl click solved.

Hope this helps. If so please mark solved. Or if you like it-then click thumbs up. Thanks
