Jim - QB 2010 isn't supported on Mt. Lion. See this article - www.qblittlesquare.com/we-want...
However, I have opened it successfully in ML, and tested a lot of different transactions without running into issues, other those that are also present in 2012. What exactly happens when you try? (and how are you trying to open it?)

After installing the ML, I click the QuickBook icon on dock, the Open Company File popped up. I click on the file, this message op up, " The eclosing folder "McIntosh HD" is marked " read only", please change the folder permissions to "Read and Write" and try again. I did. I changed the folder permission in McIntosh HD to read and write. I still can't open the file. Any thoght? Thank you again.
