The solution
My son just went to a Missouri return and clicked on status update. He says that it now reads that the forms will now be in some update after Jan 31st.
What is going on. Most of my clients are in IL but several have both IL and MO income. What are preparers doing in MO?

Thanks for the information. If the client needs the return done now we are e-filing the federal and going back and paper filing the MO (when it is finally released). If they can wait we have been putting them off until it comes out.

We seem to recall that you refile the federal electronically. It then gets rejected by the Federal but is relayed on to Missouri. Obviously we have not tried that this year but we think that worked in the past.

Have you received any explaination from Lacerte why this is taking this long when the forms are on the Missouri Dept of Revenue web site?

Oh really? I'll have to try that. I guess we just assumed that since the state pig-backed federal it couldn't be done without the federal.

No, no explaination. I do find it really IRRITATING that turbo tax has the MO forms. Guess we know where their priorities are.
