How do I merge two vendor accounts if they already have the same name?

QuickBooks Will not allow opening two vendor a/cs with same name. When we attempt to open the second a/c with the same name it will point out that already an a/c is there in the same name. Pleas note even a space is sufficient to deceive the QB to open the second a/c.
However if you wish to merge two vendor accounts, simply copy the name of the account which you wish to continue and paste in the nam column of the account which you do not wish to continue.
