Merging two companies
Is there a way to completely merge two companies? Specifically, I need to import the transactions (I already have imported the appropriate item lists as well as other lists).

QuickBooks does not have a built-in way to merge company files.
You can use some of the transfer programs on the Intuit marketplace to merge QuickBooks files.

That makes no sense whatsover, and won't do anything to resolve that problem. There isn't a way to merge transactions easily from one file to another as far as what is built in to QuickBooks, and renaming files will do no good. You pretty much need to use a product like Karl Irvins', or do some extensive programming on your own (far cheaper and more reliable to use Karl's programs)
