Marking a form 1099-misc as corrected

US QuickBooks Premier : 2010: Accountant

When a corporate client gave me the SSN for one of their independent contractors, they inverted two of the social security numbers.   Independent contractor was referred to me as a personal tax client and he informed me of the mistake last week.

I was going to file a corrected for 1099-MISC for this client.  How do I mark the corrected box on the 1099-MISC in Quickbooks?  Or is this something where I just have to put an X on the form after it prints out?

And should I write AMENDED on top of the associated 1096 as I don't see a box to mark as amended

Thanks
