Manufacturing- Inventory & Assembly Items

QuickBooks Canada : Premier 2012

Could someone please clarify for me the steps to create a purchase order from a sales order with an inventory assembly item. (if I need to purchase the Inventory parts from a vendor) to fufill (build) the item using QB Premier 2012 Manufacturing Edition. Or if someone could suggest where I could get a quick tutorial preferrably that i could print with out having to take a course or phone support on how to accomplish this and ensure I am doing it correctly.

That process is a short fall in QB

if you have an assembly item on the sales order, and you create a PO from it

QB will NOT list the items in the BOM, all it does is list the assembly item

you need to delete the assembly item and insert each item in the assembly BOM to order those parts

Thanks but me bad. On the sales order I have the inventory assembly item..when I create a po from the sales order, I check that item then change it to the inventory part I want to order, so I can have the memo of the sales order...then when I receive the goods & the invoice, I build the items. But I do have services I need to outsource for my assembly item to be completed as well. I run a machine shop so I purchase pipe, machine it, then I have to have it coated, then there may or may not be freight/delivery charges. How should I be setting up the outsourced items and delivery as i would like to track my actual cog for the assembly item? & last but not least are these the correct steps? Your help is greatly appreciated.
