Man I feel stupid, this is my first year doing taxes and I am definitley on a learning curve-I have done several taxes using e-file I had my first set where they want to mail them instead. I want to make sure I am mailing all the right info-the 540ez was only 2 pages does that seem right? and the 1040a is only 2 pages am I doing something wrong?
People who wish to mail returns usually owe money. You can print the payment vouchers and they STILL have until April 15th to pay.
If they have a refund coming, it's smarter to E-file than to mail.
It's possible that they don't trust computers or the IRS. I just remind them that the IRS already knows how much money they have.
Usually, they agree to e-filing after that.
I think the answer you need is Yes, the 540EZ is 2 pages and so is the 1040A. Be careful; if the taxpayer had W2 wages you will also need to attach form W2CG, a third page, to the 540EZ. This form functions like a substitute W2 for CA state. Good luck!

Don't ever feel stupid! We all have to start at the bottom! Just like me, I am starting out for 2009. We all mess up, have to fix things, etc! Its all in trial & error! This is where your experience comes in! Its like riding a bike, once you know, you know!

your question was not stupid and was very good, people still mail inreturns even whenthey get refunds, my older clients do all the time
