You could create a link in SharePoint with the following url:

https://www.quickbase.com/db/YOURDBID?a=gennewrecord

Change YOURDBID the DBID of your table, if the user isn't logged into Quickbase it will force them to login first before going to the form.

Thanks Ryan, somehow my question got messed up when I posted it.  I actually need to have a link from QuickBase to a shared drive on my company network.  If I take the url I have in the forumla and paste it to a browser it works great, but when I click on it in QB nothing happens.  Any ideas what I'm missing?

Thanks!

Could you please provide what works in your browser and what your formula looks like?

Hi Ryan, I can't post the actual url, but here is what it looks like:

"The formula is \\domainname.org\public\foldername\foldername"

If I paste that exact url without the quotes into a browser it works, but if I click on it in QB nothing happens.  QB does add file:// to the url when it's rendered.  I'm guessing the issue is using the domainname instead of servername\sharename, but not sure.

Thanks,

David

Try putting File: in front of the URL, something like:

File:\\domainname.org\public

I tried that and it didn't work.  It actually puts it there for you.  I also tried in 3 different browsers with the same results.  I'm out of ideas on what else to try.  Anything else you can think of to try?

Thanks Ryan,

David

Latest post

I'm not sure if this link still works but here is what I read about this a while back.

https://www.quickbase.com/db/6mztyxu8?a=printr&rid=386&dfid=10

I also found out that most modern browsers must be set up to have quickbase as a trusted site for this to work.

Hope this helps,

David
