Yes you do need to buy a second license. QuickBooks licenses by "specific person" I quoted the license agreement below.
"i) Single User License and Single User Add On Pack Purchasers. You may: (a) install the Software on one computer for access and use by only one specific person; and (b) install the Software on one additional portable computer (e.g., a laptop that you own and use in your business), so long as only the same specific person accesses and uses the Software."

You can buy a new QB pro 2009 for like $99.99 at OfficeMax this week in store or online. I have found it online the last couple of weeks for $49.99 to $69.99 per user. So it's cheap to add a new license for use. Of course that is if you are using only Pro vs of Quickbooks and not the Premier vs. of QB.
