Last day e-file problems - ONCE AGAIN!

For numerous years in a row now there are problems with e-filing on the last day. EVERY year we are told that so many people are trying to e-file that the equipment can't handle it. Then EVERY year we are told that NEXT year they will fix this problem so this will NOT happen again. This is a VERY stressful way to end tax season.

I was just told by tech support that I shouldn't be waiting until the last day to file returns! Like I should take responsibility for them selling to more customers than they are able to service. I'm furious! Twelve years with ProSeries, probably my last.

Lacerte probably won't have to worry about next year. The problems right now will make a lot of people like myself change software. AND I have used Lacerte for at least 10 years. I have already cancelled my account and hope all of their phone employees and tech support have an up to date resume because when Lacerte goes belly up they will need it.

you are right. it is entirely the people who answers the phones fault. The first person who answers the phone is the one in charge of the servers as well as being responsible for internet routers being out.

This is the old Dr joke:

"Dr, it hurts when I do this.."

"Well, stop doing that"

While Intuit should certainly be able to handle last minute filings, professional preparers should not be filing last minute returns and/or extensions. That's just asking for trouble.

It's ridiculous to say we shouldn't file last minute returns and extensions.  So we should all turn clients away who need our help on the last day?  Just throw them to the wind because they procrastinated.  hmph.  Nice.

 

btw 5 of the extensions I efiled yesterday appeared to go through - and then, today, they show that they were not efiled.  How does that happen?
