We do not use QB's to do our payroll, can I apply a labor cost to jobs if no check is written. We currently estimate that with salary and overhead our labr cost is $75 per hour. so if a service tech spends 3 hours at a job how do I show a $225 cost in the job profitability detail report for that client/job?
If you outsource your payroll as we use too, use an excel spreadsheet, formulating in taxes, etc and break each employee down by hours per project. You have to balance to the same total as the payroll for the week so post the processing fees from them as well.
Once you balance to your p/r co totals, go into qb, your payroll account and write a ck (dont print, note as "Auto") post each job as one total to Payroll Expenses- JOBCOST. That will post your labor to jobcost.
