Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! Just starting what to enter first bank statement or invoices and payments??

Hi starting qb2003 new but have bank statements going back to 01/09. Bank instituition is not showing up on online banking (Harris) so I will do it manually. No customers in yet where do I start with entering? This system seems confusing cop PTREE

You need to setup your lists. Start with Chart of accounts, enter your customers, vendors, employees, and items. After that you can enter the transactions, and some other lists as well.

Btw, if you had balances as of 12/31/08, you may want to enter those before the current year transactions.
