Just getting started

just starting up and can't seem to get entries made that reflects purchases and payments that happened before I got QB I need assistance please

I entered a bill then when I try to pay by clicking the Bill Pay button I keep getting the same response that I need to open a checking account.  I make all my payments via credit cards.

Also I have approximately 2 years of entries such as equipment and tools and materials to enter.  Cna you give assistance there as well?

Thanks

If the bill you entered was a credit card receipt, it should have been entered under Banking/Enter Credit Card Charges.  You will still need to open a checking account for when it comes time to record your payment to the credit card company.  Do that under Lists/Chart of Accounts, choose "new" and account type  "Bank".
