What preference do I set so that the memo in the journal entry always fills in after I type in the first one?

Your profile says that you are using US QB. I think it's the default - but if you chose it, you posted in the Canadian forum & we have a slightly different program.
At a quick glance, both my 2007 (Pro) and my 2011 QB (Accountant) have that option.
I don't know if you are using a different program, or aren't looking in the same place. Can you give more information?

I am in Canada and using QB Pro 2012. There is no autofill option. Do I need to reload the program in case there was a blip? I have used QB for many years and occasionally have run into this issue.

I think you could wait a bit - I'm avoiding 2012 because of date issues, but some of the others have it and may have your autofill answer.

Good Grief!!! How inconvenient and annoying. But that is one thing we can all say about QB......they are not consistent.
