I have agreed to bill my client the same amount monthly.I want to enter my time and mileage for this customer but it will not be billable.How can I view the total amount I would have billed had it been hourly?I want to ensure I am charging enough.
Look into creating invoices that list all your hours and your rate. On the invoice you can note that you bill a monthly fee of $x but you are provided your hours for informational purposes only. A monthly statement will provide you the balance forward from your invoices. You will have some months that put you in the hole and other months where are ahead but hopefully it will all even out. I was wanting to use job costing where I could see my actual costs vs billed costs. I feel like I am missing something when I enter my time and mileage. I don't want all that information on my client's invoice.
Uncheck the "billable" box on the timesheet.
Then use the Job Profitability or Time by Job and the Mileage by Job reports to keep tabs on time and mileage used.
I was doing that but couldn't find the report that showed me the unbilled hours. I finally found it last night and got the information I was looking for. Thanks.
