Job costing for projects using Quickbooks 2010
I have just installed QuickBooks Pro 2010. I am an HVAC contractor doing both service and quote projects. How do I setup job costing for projects which shows costs against jobs in progress.

Set up a new "Customer" and then create a"Job" for each project. Use this acount for creating invoices
Each time you have purchases or bills for the job enter it in "Customer:Job" field on the right end of the line. Also check "billable" if you doing a "cost +" type project and need to itemize your purchases for the client.
Later use the Profit & Loss by Job reports to see how its going.
