IRS REFUNDS
IS THE IRS DELAYING BIG REFUNDS?
IS THE IRS DELAYING BIG REFUNDS?

only refunds i see being delayed are the homebuyer credit ones
I have found over the years some times the big ones, over 10K, can be delayed, about 50% of the time, and usually only a week.

I have had several delayed this year. Cannot find a real reason behind it.

As in CA and NY, where the gummint is simply refusing to issue them?

I have found that e-file with direct deposit is running about a week behind, longer for larger refunds. Especially, if the return includes EIC or Education credit.
I have had several calls from clients wanting to know were their refunds are.

can check wheres my refund--not sure what verbage they are using this year--but last year when they were delaying eic and other child/dependent issues-had a specific phrase they were using-basically stating you were being delayed for a week or two while they reviewed the return
Grafton - I gave you a point for making me laugh - a real LOL
It's been one of those days, and I needed it.

I have noticed a few delays for Energy credits and EIC which were about a week late after e-filing
Talk about delay... After calling me several times and asking what is taking so long for the refund of over $10,000, they then received a letter from the IRS to say that the settlement statement was lost and to send another. They then called the IRS and was told it will take another 10 to 12 weeks to get their refund.
