Since we are a custom manufacturer, some displays we build has 3 sheets of laminate but the next time it may only have 2 sheets of laminate. Since we invoice per fixture, how do I reduce my inventory when I invoice the customer?
This is a 2 part process -
You need to have an item set up for each part you use in your custom displays
To build your custom displays you set up an Inventory Assembly Item and indicate what and how many you need to build this piece. DO NOT INDICATE YOU HAVE ANY ON HAND AT THIS POINT.
Next go to the menu bar select Vendors - Inventory Activities - Build Assemblies. Select the assembly you want to build and enter the quantity to be built.
When you build the assembly the inventory on hand adjusts down to reflect the COGS.
