Intuit Service Outage

We apologize to customers who are unable to connect to a number of Intuit company websites. Commercial power failure has disrupted some of our online services. We are operating on back-up power and are working to restore services. Our first priority is to restore these websites and give customers full and complete access to our sites and their data as soon as possible.

We appreciate our customers’ patience and will provide more information as it becomes available.

1:30 PM PST - We've restored some of our services. We’re working to bring most services online by 2:30pm PT. Will update again at 2:30pm PT.

12:30 PM PST - We expect to restore services by 2:30 pm PT. We’re working as quickly as possible. We're deeply sorry for the trouble.

 11:30 AM PST - Commercial power failure disrupted some of our services. We're on back-up power & working 2 restore services. Will update again @12:30 pm PT

 

10:30 AM PST - We're aware that some of our customers are having trouble accessing our services. We're working on it & will update you ASAP. Very sorry.

The disruption of service is unacceptable. It shows a lack of responsibility in handling critical data. Intuit should have an alternate means to prevent a loss of power. Please stop with excuses.

The Merchant account service is down. Anyone know when it will be up? "Soon" they say.   Well, I need to process some credit cards.  Customers are waiting...

It'd be better if you had a backup plan so when the power goes out your servers keep running.  Didn't you just have this problem a couple of weeks ago when the Merchant Account service was down for over 24 hours?

 I for one can't wait for their standard "We're deeply sorry ... We're looking into the cause of this outage ... We take these outages very seriously ... We're taking steps to ensure that this doesn't happen again"  The same old stuff they always say.  They're obviously NOT taking it seriously enough as the steps to ensure this doesn't happen again aren't happening.  I no longer have any confidence in Intuit's ability to provide reliable service to our company.  We rely heavily on Quickbooks Online.  It contains all of our customer and vendor contact info, and we make liberal use of the "Notes" field to keep track of everything.  So, Intuit, I've had enough of your meaningless lip service, and it's time for ME to take steps to ensure this doesn't happen again ... by  finding another accounting solution.

It's really bizarre Intuit does not have a simple UPS for when "the power goes out".

What a bunch of really stupid excuses, particularly since recent same problems.

Is it time to leave the sinking ship??

PAYROLL IS *NOT* BACK ONLINE YET!! I am waiting to do my Direct Deposit, I am PRAYING it can be done today, otherwise I am going to have to run paper checks, and Quickbooks will have he// to pay!!

 "We're aware that some of our customers are having trouble accessing our services." If it was a "commercial power failure" which shut down your servers I would think you would "be aware that ALL of your customers COULDN'T access your services." Isn't a power failure what took quickbooks down for 3 days last month? Shouldn't there be some sort of backup in place by now (to say nothing of before the first outage)? Battery back-ups and emergency generators have been around for quite some time and the fact that QB wasn't and still isn't using them is a little troubling. I think there might be more to the problem than QB is letting on.

I took Lynette's advice before she gave it.  Unfortunately, the appropriate CSR was rude and unhelpful.  I will continue to sit here for another 15 minutes for direct deposit to work  but I am confident it will not.

What does "commercial utility power failure" mean? Is it a private company that Intuit buys electricity for its San Diego servers from? Why doesn't Intuit hire a different company?

I'm sorry to hear you are still having problems.  To my knowledge, all systems have been up and running since about 2:30PT yesterday.  If you are still experiencing difficulties, can you tell us what service you are trying to use and what happens when you try to connect?

We are using Vs 9.2 Multistore and since the first time Intuit had trouble we have continued to have trouble ever since once or twice a week in sending files. Should we be having this trouble? Just tonight the stores went to send files and it told them there was an error in copying files and to try again later.
