Why cant i get on the internet

You're on the internet, or we wouldn't have received your question. Next.

I meant why cant I get ProSeries on the internet to get updates? My e-mail and everything else works ok

Sometimes ProSeries has trouble initiating an internet connection on its own. This is an intermittent problem. ProSeries will work fine sometimes, and other times be unable to initiate the connection itself. If it happens, try making the internet connection yourself by opening internet explorer or whatever program you use for internet access, then manually trigger updates through ProSeries without shutting down your internet connection. Also note that the first time ProSeries connects for updates, it can take what seems like a long time to run through its sequence so be patient. This protracted delay typically happens only once though.
I guess I am not clear. I do use Internet explorer and it works fine. When I bring up ProSeries, (with the Explorer working or not), I am at Homebase and click update, then Update Installed Products a screen pops up that says "Unable to connet to the Internet, check your internet connection and try again." I have gone to help and run the Internect connection.

That is a puzzler. Make sure you've tried all the generic, obvious steps such as rebooting the computer and restarting ProSeries. You might also try Update, Select and Download New Products, then Next to see if you get the same result. Or try actually selecting a new product to download to see what happens. I admit, though, I'm shooting in the dark here. Except for just one of those random little computer goblins that drive us all crazy (which can usually be banished by rebooting), I don't know what the glitch could be. Are you using Vista or XP?
I am guessing that if you were to try to license the product online that you would get a 0-0 error. The internet client most likely is not functioning. This is usually fixed by re-registering a file called psinetr.dll. Go to http://my.proseries.intuit.com... and search for psinetr.dll

That's pretty clever, EricK. Nice job.
SRS, please let us know if that fixes the problem so that we'll know how to help others.
I downloaded the complete program and now everything works, except the licensing - and you are correct I am getting the 0.0 error
Sometimes if you have internet security programs, you will need to turn them off. I have Webroot and anytime I am going to use Proseries, I have to turn off the above program.
