Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! During this time, you can shop, but can’t place orders online, activate products or update account info. We apologize for the inconvenience & thank you for patience while we improve our infrastructure to better serve you. International versions are unaffected. For more info, see our community discussion.

The solution

I presume that you mean Quick Books Pro 2010 (not 2011, which is a US product). Both products should install correctly on SBS 2011, which is based upon Windows 2008R2, which is itself Windows 7 Server. I am running QB 2010 Premier on Windows 2008R2 without any problem.

I have database file hosted on Windows Small Business Server 2011 and am having issues opening file in multi-user mode. (Error H202)

-Have Database Manager installed and updated on server

-Turn Firewalls off while trouble shooting

-Ran Network Diagnostic tool, passed connectivity tests..

Any ideas? Been at this for days

First of all, you have hijacked an existing thread, which means that had I not subscribed to the question would not have prompted me to your reply.

In answer to your question though, you could look specifically at this posting on the US support site which may give you the solution, or you could look also at these similar questions from other users.

Is this an official answer? Because an Intuit salesman told our customer that SBS 2011 is unsupported.

Latest post

I am NOT an Intuit employee.

Although Intuit do say that Windows 2008R2 (and its derivatives such as SBS2011) is not supported, that is NOT to say that Quick Books 2010 and 2012 do NOT work effectively on this platform. As I said in my first response to the original poster, I have been running 2010 and 2012 successfully for over a year on Windows 2008R2.

There was one issue relating to IE9 which has now (as far as I am concerned) been resolved, otherwise there is no problem that I am aware of.
