Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! Income Statement Subtotals with Statement Writer 2010

I created a pdf that displays the difficulty I am having with statement writer.

My clients like the expense account subtotals available in the standard QuickBooks income statement and I am trying to replicate the subtotals in statement writer.

The linked .pdf has three examples:
1) Income Statement from QuickBooks with account subtotals
2) Default Income Statement from Statement Writer were no subtotals are displayed
3) An initial attempt at displaying subaccount detail without heavily reworking the spreadsheet.

I would appreciate suggestions on how to generate expense account subtotals in statement writer.

Thank you,

Paul Carlson

You can add lines and create your own titles and row headings.  You can also add columns and put totals in them.  In Statement Writer, Row Properties, add a total row.
